Move the OMNI in closer and more to one side for lower key - more mood and shadow formation. Move it out further for high key lighting with modest specularity.

Take the diffuser off and move back still further for high key and relatively high specularity, and extremely high output.

That's why I named it OMNI - it can be really useful for everything from sports through general use with diffuser with more even results than open reflectors and sweet spot specularity and shadow formation, down to close in low key lighting up close.

If you like really round and even catch lights in the eyes, OMNI with diffuser has more even surface illumination than just about anything.

Oh yes, I forgot about the ability to use the diffuser socks on the Omni reflector! This light modifier is very versatile!

Randall, happy shooting!

Yesterday I was able to use the Omni Reflectors in a studio setting
One as fill one as key light

Very happy with these reflectors I recommend everyone have a set they are so versatile

That's a great example shot, RandRob! I like the quality of light here quite a bit!

BillF, the images are very crisp, the colors pop nicely. I'm wondering though if the Omni Reflector's beam is so narrow, how did you light up such a large area?

Randall, I like the way you shoot these low-key portraits, the lighting is nicely done.

Hi Chaya,

I started with an ambient exposure then used the Omni to raise the exposure on Lara. It was used bare - no grid or sock.

It was getting late in the day and the ambient was getting darker and the shutter slower. She was moving around a little so I fired off as many shots as I could and kept the ones that worked. The light was to the left. In some of the shots you can tell the light is a little brighter on that side.

Thanks
Bill
