Hello,
I've checked the FAQ and the technical and didn't see a post like my issue.

I'm having an issue with my Einstein not firing when triggered by the CST. I've tried with the CST mounted on my camera's hotshoe, as well as pressing the Test button. I installed a new battery, and the very first press of the Test button is successful, and the LED on the CST flashes once. Then if I press Test again, there is no response from the LED, and the Einstein does not fire. If I press test again 3-5 more times, it will usually fire once. This continues, only firing once out of every ~ 5 tries. If I remove the battery and reinstall it, it will fire the very first time, but not again the second. Again, 1/5 times it will trigger. I've verified that the channel on the CST matches the channel on the Einstein.
If I use the Cyber Commander to trigger via the light meter function, it fires every single time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

If the CST worked fine prior to the battery change, I would suspect a low/dead battery cell. This is If you can meter this battery, be sure it is 3VDC or higher (as it should be, new. The CST can work down to 2.8VDC or so).

If the battery was very cold, especially over a long period of time, this can lower the effective voltage and it will act like a dead battery. Once warmed, it should return to normal.
