when I press the test button on the CST, it lights solid for the duration of the press and goes out; no blinking or anything. I'll have to get back to you on the result of a shutter press.

Piltwort,

My apologies if I took you down the wrong path on this. I am obviously very biased against PC sync ports :-)

Craig, no worries! I'm in upgrade mode right now. If I can get the PCBs to work better, I'm going to get at least 1 more receiver. Your advice definitely helps!

No love for PC ports from me, but we still have to accommodate them. :)

I have never seen a CST blink/light for the duration of the button press. Normally, the LED blinks on the release.

I have not been able to find your order history to see when exactly your ordered. If you would like to email me at info@paulcbuff.com and put the attention to David in the subject line, and let me know your name and phone number or address. We do make small changes as need arises, though the CST/CSRB's have never had systemic reliability issues.

If Technical Support can help you get your CSRB's going with your Canon speedlights, here is something you *might* want to ponder: The cost of two Lumopro 180s is $400.00 before tax and shipping, which is getting very close to the cost of an Einstein. I obviously don't know what your budget is and whether you could swing the extra $130.00 for the Einstein and a CSVSX and a mod or two (and possibly a Vagabond if you want to be free of AC power at times), but that would be moving you into a 3 light kit: two small speeds and one monolight.

Just a thought :-) . I am not on commission with PCB. LOL.

When I experienced continual problems I worked with Tech Service to isolate the problem. It turned out to be interference with my wireless network. Once we tweaked the Cybersync channels and the Network channels it has been flawless for years.
