Wow, so far I have been very happy with PCB and I could live with shipping the Einsteins back and forth, but hey I have to tell you guys that I am really miffed about the Cyber Commander.

It really sucks finding out that a newer version Cyber Commander is a available only a few month after receiving the first version Cyber Commander. If it were a normal product cycle upgrade of more than one year I could understand, but I received mine in July of 2010.

Quote:
There is no upgrade from a non-antennaed unit to one with an antennae, as the early ones are capable of performing as advertised when purchased.
is really not what I want to hear, especially after spending a couple of grand with you and then my lights spending more time in the back of an UPS truck than on location or in the studio.

Come on, you really should make an upgrade availalbe, even if it is not entirely free. What happend to the outstanding Customer Service?

Also, what does
Quote:
This is excepting units that are typically dialed up to a higher backlight
mean? Is that a flaw in the design which is acceptable?

I really hope that Paul will read this and that you all consider some sort of "trade-up" program for the Cyber Commander. Again, I don't want it for free, just make it right!

Thanks for listening!

Chris

:P :P :P :P :P I don't really want an upgrade but a discounted backup would be great! :P :P :P :P :P Once everything is working the system is outstanding. I got to do two studio sessions over the last two days that were just flawless!

Yes, I would also like to be able to return my CC for the new version, or buy the new version at a discounted price. I received mine in July (ordered right at the time I got the notice for my Einstein order being ready to ship).

It seems like the new one must have already been in the works around that time, and I kinda feel like I could have been told a new one was coming so soon.

I appreciate how PCB is handling the Einsteins, I noted how PCB handled the Vagabond I vs. II when that happened, so I was a bit startled when the official word on the new CC was "No exchange, no discount"

I spent a fewl thousand dollars this year for Einsteins, modifiers, triggers, and CC. I am still using V1 Einsteins without complaining, waiting my turn. I waited for PLMs. I recommend PCB products regularly. I just recommended CST and CSRB and a hotshoe adapter to someone today for their Nikon SB600.

I consider myself a loyal customer and a good referral source for PCB.

The question was if an update was recommended for units that did not yet exhibit rebooting errors, but the concern was there that they could in time. The answer was that they typically did not then suddenly start rebooting, except for units that are typically at higher back light settings, which tend to not exhibit the reboots. Once dialed down, the reboots may start suddenly. The statement was not intended to address acceptabilty, it only addressed a symptom.

Well, I also felt telling you guys, because Customer Service seems not to be caring about this issue...

Thanks

Chris
