I think you're missing the point. I am firmly in the CC camp and would like a module like this one to trigger my Einsteins from a 358 meter. Switching over to a PW solution isn't even a consideration.

Why not just meter with the CC? You can selectively fire any one light, any group of lights or all lights at once. This is much more seamless to do than selectively firing lights with Sekonic plus PW module. CC is also $179.95 compared to $360 for L358 plus PW module. CC is factory calibrated to give the same readings as Sekonic within typically 1/10f.

Even if we did make a module that plugged into Sekonic it could not work unless Sekonic changed their firmware and possibly the display itself.

As mentioned in a different thread, I am strongly considering getting a pair of Einsteins. I already have a Sekonic L-758DR, and a handful of PocketWizard IIs. I really like the idea of the Cybersync Commander remotely controlling the strobe power through the Cybersync Tranceivers. But I really like my Sekonic, and was wondering if the following would work:

Mount a Cybersync Tranceiver on each Einstein
Mount the Cybersync Commander on the camera hotshoe
Attach a PW II to the Sync plug on the back of each Einstein

With this setup, I'd only use the PWs during light metering with the Sekonic. The CC would be used for all other strobe control. Does this work?

Thanks,
Nick

It should work. I've triggered Einsteins through the sync port when a CSXCV was also in place and it worked fine. It's also likely that your Sekonic has a "wait for flash" mode. You could use that and just trigger the lights with the CC. But after a while I bet you'd just meter with the CC. Much of it's usefulness lies in its ability to adjust strobe power in terms of aperture, but to do this you must meter using the CC.

Yes, it will work.

However, as posted above, one of the core functions of the Cyber Commander is to meter the lights, record and display each light's metered value, and adjust the light's power without having to remeter. As well, once all lights are metered, the whole can be increased or decreased in ratio, allowing you to set the light to match the aperture you want, rather than setting the aperture your lights meter at. This works best when metering from the Cyber Commander, which you will find to meter very close to the Sekonic and able to adjust to match.
