Are you able to save and retrieve set ups from the CC on either of those cards? For the purposes of this test, you can save whatever is on the Cyber Commander currently as SD50. Then alternate opening SD50 and any other location, regardless of what is actually on it (including nothing). Also try letting the CC go to sleep and attempting to open again. Additionally, it may not be a bad idea to remove and reinstall the card and attempting to open the locations. This will determine if the card/reader is working otherwise in the right manner.

Yes, I can save and open to and from the SD card.

Have you attempted to download the file again, incase there was any coruption in the down load?

Also, to be sure; your folder and file structure is as follows: PCBUFF>CCMDR>CONFIGS, FIRMWARE, LOAD. And it was the PCBUFF folder (and its contents) you sent to the SD card?

Yes, I have downloaded and unzipped half a dozen times. And yes, I'm copying the PCBUFF folder and all the subfolders under CCMDR (which is under PCBUFF), CONFIGS, FIRMWARE, and LOAD. FIRMWARE and LOAD have the hex file, CONFIGS is empty. The auto install doesn't work (ends up in a boot loop) and the manual install (deleting the hex file from the LOAD subfolder first does not work). I've reformatted the cards under two different computers and under the CC and none work. And I have bought two new cards and two new adapters to be sure its not the card...they operate ok for copying and formatting but they all end up putting the CC in the boot loop. And the CC creates a new PCBUFF subfolder every time it loops thru the boot.

It sounds as you are doing everything correctly. I have sent you an email regarding further options in getting you updated.

I must have erased my prior settings somehow.

I thought I had saved them to the microSD card, but maybe not? Date on the CONFIG folder shows 7-19-2011 even on the download for the new v40 firmware too which seems odd.

I reloaded the old CONFIG that I had saved and the original setup settings are still gone. If I did the v40 update and if they were in 'the unit' and not on the 'microSD card,' I assume they are now gone since the update?

Ugh! Now to redo it all over again...

Mack

He was sent a preloaded card, after all other solutions were exhausted.

Internal save locations are not retained after a Firmware upgrade. The configs folder should contain .sav files. I typically recommend saving a master set up on both the internal and SD card locations, and if you are really concerned, back up to the computer as well.
