I had a similar experience once. I believe I had a TTL cord on my Canon 7D's hot shoe with a Speedlite on a flash bracket. My TTL cord has a pass-through feature with a hot shoe on top of the part that connects to the camera's hot shoe. I tried to put the Cyber Commander on there and just like you said, my PCB lights (Einsteins) began discharging rapidly and repeatedly - flickering.

If I want to mix the two, I actually put a Phottix Strato radio trigger on the pass-through shoe and put the CST on the Phottix receiver. It's a little complicated but it works. If you have a spare PW receiver you could always hook it up to the CST.

If your schedule permits, you are more than welcome to swing by and we can swap compoinents to see if we can find a culprit. I will still continue to research.

I might be able to come by in the next few days... do I need to call and give you a heads up? I live about 15 minutes away.

Not typically, but it can help ensure I am not on the phone.

I'm wondering if this is related to problems that I had this weekend. I have the MiniTT1, AC3, and 2 FlexTT5 that I use with a SB800 and SB900. Just this week I bought 2 Einsteins and MC2's so I could use all 4 lights together. I had a variety of problems. I experience the rapid triggering thing once, all by itself. I had black screens on some shots even though the lights fired. This seemed to happen when I would turn on zone off on the AC3. I had lights triggering randomly throughout the day. I'm probably forgetting some stuff, but there seemed to be a lot of bugs. Since I had just bought the e640's and MC2's I thought that they may need a firmware update but I checked later and everything was current. I had updated the other PW items to the latest firmware.

Andy,
Were the slave eyes off on the Einsteins? If not, I can see that causing every problem you describe, particularly if you were around other photographers.

Yep, they were on and I agree that was probably my problem. I tried it again last night and everything seemed to work as it should, except for high speed sync. I thought that r read tha the einstiens would support hss with the new PW system. Is that wrong?

Not HSS, but HyperSync. A big difference. Here is a link to a sticky about the differences:

There are also several other threads that can be searched for that discuss this feature.

Hypersync is what I meant. So the einstiens support hypersync with the new PW system? When I went above about 1/200 all I got was black screens.
