Good idea peteb. Also, since they are presumably running on battery, the "extra" light could be set to a low power (how low will depend on positioning) in order to not drain the battery. I would suggest using the light that has the slave eye facing the sun as your master. And making sure the light from the master hits the back of the "extra" flash, and that light hits the back of the slave. This is especially true if you are using a gridded light as the master.

In the long run, I would suggest a receiver for each light used outside.

Now I have run into a whole other problem. its pouring rain today (the day of one of my shoots) and rain forcasted for the next three days and I have to do outdoors with an back light either by natural sun or an added light if the sun isn't showing. (This is for school obviously..and its a 2 part assignment, A "test shoot" of 25 pics with 1 subject and our "final shoot" with someone else..and we have to have the same weather conditions in both pics....now figure that one out... hmm...

Get a friend w/ an umbrella to keep the rain off the strobes.
Find a cloudy day and use a garden hose.

Improvise ;)
