Because PW TT Hypersync is a hack.
It takes a sliver of the pulse...that's why there are configuration settings in the PW TT software to move this sliver timing around.

Try it w/ an AB1600 and you'll be happy...don't try it w/ an Einstein except at full power.

I had setting all variation PW include beta version (as Pocket Wizard told me via email).
All setting had gradation on my foto.
I think AB400 can used HSS with PW, because of The flash duration of a B400 is 1/2000 t.1.
Is that correct?
Or I bought AB400 (used) isn't normal condition.

For the PW Hypersync hack, you actually want a slower T.1.
It works sort of like this if your flash pulse is this long:

it tries to fire your shutter in this window
--------^^^----------------------
so if the T.1 is short, it looks like this
---\
and it misses it. Your PW software lets you move the ^^^, so you want something that looks like this:
-^^^-----------------------------
IIRC, the AB400 is slowest at low power (opposite of a speedlight), so set it as low as you can and try it again.
You should ask the PW folks for help and to confirm that thee AB400 works in Hypersync w/ your camera body. They don't support all camera bodies IIRC...
