I'm not a PCBuff Tech, but as a former firmware developer I can tell you that the "simple things" are not necessarily "easy"...

Here's a solution. Make a "hard" on off switch like you have on the Bees and when in the on position and unplugged then plugged back in, it goes back on. Problem solved. I want 10 percent of all future profits.

I don't like your idea. As an Einstein owner I would not benefit if done your way. Many computers have an option for how it behaves when the main power comes on. Always off, last state or always on are typical options. This would be a fantastic option to have on the Einstein and could potentially be implemented in firmware thereby benefiting all.

And this is why it's not simple. Two solutions, the first requiring modifications to the physical hardware, case of the product, ...; the second requiring changes to two products (E640 and Cyber Commander) at least. Not to mention testing, changing user manuals, marketing collateral, ...

If the Einstein can "wake up" from a signal provided by the Cyber Commander port, why not from the sync port? Clearly the circuitry is active as soon as power is supplied or else the Cyber Commander wouldn't be able to function with the Einstein off. Just curious.

I would love to have the option to have an "always on" setting from firmware. If I have the strobe plugged up, I want it ready to go. Period.
