For clarification, the update to v.50 can cause the meter to lose calibration. Units shipped with v.50 will still be calibrated.

We are working on instructions to re-calibrate the CC in the field, but this will require a second light meter.

So does that mean I should hold off on doing the update? My Einsteins updated fine.

I am at ver 36 on my CC. Other than making sure I have good batteries will I be missing anything vital?

The V.50 update allows FAT32 compatibility (ergo, formatting on a Mac and/or larger cards) as well as corrects an issue with excessive power draw.

We can walk you through recalibrating your unit, if you have another flash meter.

I have another meter, but since I need it this weekend, and won't be using any large cards, I'll just have an extra set of batteries and be happy. I'll do the update afterwards.

Will you have the recalibration process written up any time in the future (although I can kind of guess what it is)?

We are working on getting the re-calibration process instructions finalized.

I guess my feeling right now is if it's not broke, don't break it.

It's working fine, I just remove the batteries between shoots. I don't see a real need to update the firmware, I'll just wait for the next version when it is fixed.

I had a similar problem with the calibration of my Cyber Сommander.
For me, it would be difficult to communicate by telephone.
Is it possible to get instruction for calibration?

You can contact Customer Service via email, and we can assist you in getting the meter re-calibrated.
