There are things happening between PW and Einstein and Buff you don't know about, and they won't be announced until a little more progress has occurred. It will evolve over time and then the world will look different than it does today.

That is good to hear. I'm not 100% happy with their Alien Bee solution, I was hoping for a standalone (and hence cheaper) receiver for the Bees. Here's hoping for a dedicated PW receiver for Einsteins in the price range of the Elinchrom solution. :D

PowerMC2 for Einstein

Yes. That's been our policy for 28 years now. One caveat: Nothing wrong with Einstein's "radio", rather, an upgrade to Einstein's compatibility with a competitor's product. We, like Canon, could have left the fix to PW but choose to improve our product instead.

Current Einstein shipping has a partial PW fix but the total fix will take several weeks to fully implement at a cost of several hundred thousand $ to us.<---

Hello Paul,

that is the greatest message for me so far this week gadgetwise (yes, I give my repentance because of the costs for fixing/ updating the units).

As a UK-customer not having yet received my 2 pre-ordered Einstein-Units (order-no below 20) will I be amongst the customers you will ship the "new" advanced Einsteins to?

I will use them with Pocket Wizards and Canons DSLRs.

Thank you.

White Lightning???

Pocket Wizard AC9 / AC3 metering with Sekonic L-358?

Now that I have TT1, TT5, AC3 & AC9 (White Lightning) wt. Canon 5dMkII, how do I meter my set-up?

Any input from the Buff side appreciated!

Any updates available regarding the PowerMC2 for the Einstein. The PW site still says late fall release.

UGH! So it could be another four months! PW has been having real problems delivering product lately (with the accent on "late").

Thanks for pointing out that post, Eric.

Honestly, I'm not expecting it until April/May time frame based on their past performance. I would love to be pleasantly surprised, though.

I have the Flex system using the AC9 and I hit 1/2000th last night using an AB1600 on full power. I need to test again, but tonight on much less than full power, I could only hit 1/340th.

Camera: Canon 1DS MKIII
Flex TT5 on both camera and flash using the AC3 and the AC9.

If anyone is interested, let me know by replying here and I'll post the results.

If I can use the AB1600 at 1/2000th that's a artillery compared to a 580EX II.
