Paul,
You are the KING of Client Service!

I see this demonstrated time and time again at Paul C. Buff...

Your replacement and upgrade policies are beyond reproach and always extraordinary!

How could anyone ever purchase the competitors equipment when they know Paul C. Buff always has their back?

Your technology is always cutting edge, you are attentive to our needs and you are approachable!

Name a competitor that bellies up to your bar!

They don't exist...

KUDOS, Paul!

That's the result of not going to business school. These policies certainly cost us some potential profits and at times when I have had MBAs on staff they point this out. They don't last here long because I know for every dollar of lost profit from trying to practice the Golden Rule, we get back 10 in our bottom line.

But I am not really profit driven in the first place and just do what I feel is right.

It works.

Thanks HotShot for your kind words.

Paul, lest I be remiss, your philosophy is imbued into your entire team.

I know firsthand!

Last week, I had the pleasure of finalizing an order with Lori - actually, we have been working together on my Einstein and accessory order since the Einstein pre-launch announcement. You know how long ago that was.

Anyway, throughout a process that I inadvertently complicated, she was responsive, efficient, loveable and totally professional. I could sense the smile in every email she sent my way.

She saved the day and my order will land on my doorstep in a few days.

WELL DONE, TEAM BUFF!!

I insist on it. Kimmy (acting President) has a BA in accounting and is under forty, and Lori (Customer service/marketing VP) has a BA at best and is a fox. Both are absolutely the best and understand and balance the Golden Rule with managing a successful and very stressful business (over 1000 items and over 100 customers every day). Ladder climbers and buttheads don't last long, and rarely get hired in the first place.

It's really not that hard to empower good employees, and they like what they do. Me . . . I have one semester of community college and am officially a High School grad. But I got fantastic electronics schooling in the Marine Corps (that's "core" Mr. Commander in Chief, not "corpse").

Small world... I attended aircraft electronics school in Millington in 1970. USN 1970-1973. It's how I got my start in computers. Ended up getting a BSc in computer science thanks to the GI Bill, 2 part time jobs and a hard working wife.

You guys are just kids!

Me . . . school MCRD San Diego and Treasure Island, San Francisco, 1954-1955 Aviation Radio Technician - first in class of 500 - wonderful one year school. Then MCAF Irvine CA (Blimp Base close to El Toro).

Fixed and maintained all the control tower equipment while the other three guys played poker all day. Left as Sergeant in 1957 and built and operated Pal Recording Studio . . . self employed ever since. I'd do it again in a minute.

Lori is VP Customer Service/Marketing, a fox, been with me since 1985 or so, a truly delightful girl and the best there is. Yes, I pay her very well. She trains and directs all the other customer service peeps. She's always "up" and smiling. and knows her stuff.

See her in the 9th picture here, and Nat (Advertising) in the 10th.

My hair's not that shocking lately, but still red, along my added beard.

This link is about three or four years old.

No lie, Sgt. Buff... you were in when Chesty Puller was still in diapers and after Christ was promoted to Corporal!

Yep, my stateside duty was at LTA (Lighter Than Air) on Red Hill - same as you!

I was in at a good time - between Korea and Vietnam, so I never had to kill anybody or have anyone shooting at me. But I learned how. I really feel for the Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan troops . . . no fun at all for them.
