Just to follow up--though it is not an intuitive set up, once you get past that part, the CC is awesome. I love being able to individually control my einsteins! No more climbing on ladders, or lowering stands just to get at controls. On the fly, precision tenth stop adjustments! Blonde steps in under a hairlight set for a brunette, no problemo! Or a bald guy, for that matter (glarelight).

Way cool. Highly recommended addition to an einstein system!

I don't see that the issue with "CC not turning on with the new micro SD card and update" was ever addressed. I saw Tech support suggested installing card with batteries in, but I don't see a response. My CC was shipped with v.29 and I'm trying to update to v.36

My CC won't boot up with the new card, but when I reinstall the old card, or no card, it boots fine. The new card is brand new 2GB SanDisk and I've tried two separate cards. I need help quick... I have a shoot in less than a week.

You could try copying the firmware, v.29, off of the original card (save it just in case) and then replacing it with the V.36. This way you are working from a card that you know the CC reads.

The not turning on is typically card related, and not firmaware fixable. Card corruption, SDHC (even on 2GB cards), or improper formatting are typically the causes. Macs do not like to format to FAT16, rather their FAT is FAT32, and is the most common cause.
