OK, silly question. I've been using the specs from my old UL Ultra manual for home made accessories, and all that gave was the hole diameter, 3.5 inches.

Is there a spec for the thickness of whatever you're mounting to, i.e. a 1/8 inch raised lip? And, in light of the newer attachment systems like on Einstein, is 3.5 inches still the "optimal" diameter?

Yes, 3.5" diameter is still the standard, and lip thickness from 1/8" to 1/4" are optimal. Some of our accessories accidentally strayed well beyond the 1/4" mark and this caused the need for reshaping of current Einstein holding fingers to properly hold those . . . . particularly the 22" beauty dish.

Thank you greatly.

I'm going to start adding 1/8 inch thick reinforcing rings to my thinner accessories.

Paul,

I just ordered a 22" dish, and I have a very early E640. How far along are the newer versions as far as upgrading an early model?

Brian

They are shipping now, but there is a backlog. Customer Service can give you a time estimate.
