Hi, I want to use the 30x60" giant softbox as key light. In order to light this softbox properly, would a b800 be sufficient or do I need the B1600? thanks

Depends on whay you mean by "properly". The only difference will be the intensity of light at any given point. The B1600 will give you the exact same effect, but at 1 stop brighter. If you prefer to shoot at lower apertures and/or closer distances, then the B800 will likely be fine. If you shoot at smaller apertures, higher ambient light, and/or further distances, then the B1600 may be a better choice.
