You would need a hotshoe adapter since your camera doesn't have a PC sync outlet. New Alienbees come with a 12 or 15 foot sync cord. A better alternative is a Cybersync trigger and a cybersync receiver.

I have used corded but I HIGHLY recommend using wireless. I have tripped over a cord and knocked over my tripod and broke a lens when it hit the ground. Costed me about 100 bucks getting it fixed...

I now use pocket wizards. I just recently started experenting with the cyber syncs because I got the Einstien to try out. I have to say, they haven't missed a beat and they are a fraction of the pocket wizards.

Don't skimp and go with eBay syncs, there junk like 99% of what comes out of China. Paul Buff makes a good product and stands behind it but just read the forums and you will see he continually fights his Chinees suppliers to give him what he agreed on for them to build. I worked for a solid American company that was bought out by a Chinees company. They lied to our customers and subsistututed materials for cheaper less quality materials. Now we are all out of a job because the customers went elsewhere.

PB syncs are made in america and work. I wish PB didn't outsource so much of ther parts and sub assemblies but he claims price as his motivation as does many of the publicly traded companies. But just reading his posts about how often he blames his recalls and delays on his suppliers (China) , he would want to invest more in proven american workers.

That being said, I still am a Paul Buff fan boy and will always be unless he dies (God forbid) and his company stops the supurb customer service.

I know I'm being long winded but buy the best you can afford and you will never need to upgrade later. I personally never see the need to leave Paul Buff products.

Also look into umbrellas. Shoot through are the softest. Soft boxes are more controlling but for a beginner, these are an easy and cheap way to get soft light for people.
