I got my Giant Foldable Softboxes few months ago and have only used them on my B800s few times. I have 2 B800s, one is about a year old and the other about 6 months old. I have only used B800s about 15 times in the last year.
I cannot tell which B800 I am having trouble with but it will not keep my Giant Foldable Softbox latched on for more than 2 minutes. Is this a defect on my B800 or is the softbox too big/heavy for B800?
It really is frustrating not being able to set up my equipment when clients are right in front of me:(

I feel your pain, it sucks looking like an idiot fighting equipment.

Don't put up with it. Call customer service and I'm sure they will make it right.

It sounds as though a spring is out of spec on one of the lights. Both lights are under warranty (based on your description). Send them in to us and we will correct it for you. Also, be sure you are getting all four of the retaining fingers inside the speedring, otherwise it will not hold.

How long will it take to repair? The timing is kind of important because I need to use it with a beauty dish on upcoming shoots. It has no problem holding a beauty dish.

And, Yes, I do make sure all 4 fingers are inside the speedring. It is very difficult to assemble this giant softbox but I know there is no way B800 will hold it otherwise. It really feels too heavy IMO.

Repair times can vary depending on work load when you send it in, however, 4-6 business days is the typical in house turn around time.
