Hello - I picked up a Vagabond II August of 2010 and a pair of Elinchrom D-Lite4's. I've only had the opportunity to use the two together a handful of times with zero issues. A friend is running the same set up, exact same equipment also with zero issues. It's been several months since I've used the Vagabond, and charging it for the recommended 10 hours once each month. Now when I power up the Elimchrom's with the Vagabond they are producing an error code (E5) that states "Mains Supply Fault". When the lights are plugged into a standard wall outlet, they work flawlessly, they only produce the code when using the Vagabond. I've tried running the Vagabond plugged in in conjunction with the lights - same issue. The lights will power up, modeling lights turn on - but the error code remains. My Vagabond has rarely left my office, not dropped of man-handled at any time - so I'm ruling out physical damage. Fuses are fine (unit wouldn't turn on without them anyways) and the battery shows no outward signs of sulfation. I'm beginning to wonder if the inverter has somehow gone bad. Thoughts? I would greatly appreciate any advice. Best regards, Ryan |

What happens if you only try to use one light? |

Good morning TS. The error is produced with one light or two. Directly plugged into the inverter's three-prong outlet and with a "power strip". |

Are you able to measure the output of the inverter? It is possible for the output voltage to drop, which may cause your lights to show the error. You may also want to have the battery tested. Many auto parts stores can test the battery under load. |
