Hello,

I just come across this:

http://www.pocketwizard.com/products/tr ... /features/

Will it work with the EINSTEIN and will I be able to use ANY shutterspeed with my pro EOSes?

http://www.pocketwizard.com/products/tr ... atibility/

It does not mention the EINSTEIN.

More info:

Thanks

OFF TOPIC:

When will you be able to ship the new 51"-PLMs and when will they be ready to order in the UK ?

Thanks again.

I would think that they wouldn't work with the Einsteins as I'm thinking that to communicate with the Alien Bees they would be using a "phone-style" jack, whereas the Einsteins do not have this jack ............

You may be right,

http://www.robgalbraith.com

quoted from today

"The AC9 piggybacks onto a FlexTT5 for Canon and connects to the RJ11 port of AlienBees, White Lightning and Zeus (it's not compatible with the Einstein 640)."

Hello Paul, any help from there?

We will know more soon....

Best wishes.

Not sure of exactly what you are asking, but if it is to clarify if the new AC9 modules will work with Einstein, then no, they don't. Anything that requires the use of the RJ11 will be incompatabile with Einstein.

Hello!

Will there be ANY workaround to make the EINSTEIN work with the new AC9 modules with RJ11 in order to be able to use high sync-speed on Canon DSLRs?

First, from my understanding of the system, the RJ11 module is not required for Hypersync. Hypersync merely triggers the flash a little bit earlier than normal to maximize the sync speed, or fake HSS. (see the stickies at the top of this forum for full explainations) All of this can be done via the standard sync jack. The AC9 modules permit the ability to adjust flash output via the RJ11 jack. There is no means of converting a CSXCV to RJ11 interfaces.

Additionally, as explained in the stickies, the Hyper Sync feature requires a long flash duration to become beneficial. From my experience, anything significantly lower than full power on the E640 yields too short of a flash duration to be practical (or possible).

Sorry, I don't have any time frames right now. Paul is pushing the vendor hard to get these to us, and once received, they will have to go through QC and all backorders will be filled in order. So it will still be awhile before they are available in the UK.

Hi,

it seems to be true

that:

"HyperSync works with both TTL speedlites and full size studio flash. All you need is a MiniTT1 or FlexTT5 on camera that has been tuned to your specific camera via the PocketWizard Utility."

From:

http://www.pocketwizard.com/inspirations/technology/hypersync_fpsync/

But you assume that this only works with EINSTEIN set on full power?

So f4 and 1/4000 sec. with EINSTEIN set (only)on fullpower should do the job using MiniTT1 or FlexTT5 on a CANON DSLR and one PW on the respective EINSTEINs 1/8-sync-jacks?

Full power will be your best bet. I cannot say for sure right now that you will get f/xxx at 1/xxxx at ISO XXXX. The results should be similar between a B1600 and E640, both set to full as flash durations are similar.

Hello friendly competent staffers,

I understand- there is hardly a shutter-speed gain (that is "X-sync-speed") possible. And never something like 1/1000sec.

As for Canon 1D MK3 1/200sec-->1/300sec. default:

1/500sec. @max (very bottom of page)
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_ ... -9903-9904

As for Canon 5D MK2 1/200sec. default:

No advantage at all. (bottom of page)
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_ ... -9903-9907

It appears that I am looking forward to using your PLMs with a remote speedlite.

And to the shipment of my already ordered EINSTEINs. Of course!

Best regards.

Watt

There are things happening between PW and Einstein and Buff you don't know about, and they won't be announced until a little more progress has occurred. It will evolve over time and then the world will look different than it does today.
