I know this is off topic, but it sure seems someone loves his PCB strobes!
2 Bees, 1 Einstein, and 4 unknown (but possibly PCB) strobes. :D

The closest strobe is an Elinchrom, one of the ones with the transluscent plastic cases.

I remember how the Elinchrom snobs used to talk about how unprofessional orange, green, and pink Bees looked. Then Elinchrom started shipping strobes with transluscent purple and green cases...

Elinchrom doesn't begin to touch Einstein . . . in color shift, power range, flash duration, controllability, matching of modeling to flash, size weight or cost. Profoto D1 or Compact is even worse.

Of course I'm biased.

Paul, I'm sure his use of the word closest was meant to imply "closest light in the picture", not "comparable". ;) I'm pretty sure Joe knows his lights better than that...

The 4lights in the back are Speedlights/lites can't really tell from this angle.

And Paul I am biased too!

That really is Mr. PocketWizard:

"LPA Design President and CEO Tim Neiley shows off one of the latest PocketWizard products, the AC3 Zone Controller remote system, which not only allows remote sync of strobe units to a camera, but also allows remote power control of several different kinds of strobes or camera flashes."

You forgot the security of the mounting systems: 4 claws into the edge of a ring for Einstein, vs 2 pins into bayonet groves for Elinchrom. I've had 4 foot softboxes crash unexpectedly off Elinchroms. But the things I've mounted on my poor White Lightning Ultras over the years. 6 foot Chimera softbox with grid. Projector heads...

As David said, "closest" light in the picture. Feature wise, I don't even think the Elinchrom flagship RX can measure up to the White Lightning line, let alone the Einsteins. The Indian made Elinchrom D-Lite and BX line even get trounced by Bees...

So am I. At MPW, I've had
  • a brand new Style RX 1200 (that's the Elinchrom that's actually made in Switzerland, not the BX or the D-Lite) fry its modeling light controller the first time it was used, out of the box.
  • every single Style 300 and 600 has been in to service at least once.
  • the Style 600s jam their fans when mounted inverted on the Bogen Sky-Trax system, when used with 4ft or 6ft Westcott soft boxes.
  • both the 4 foot and 6 foot Westcotts speedrings tear out, because of the 2 pin and bayonet system that Elinchrom uses.
  • broken cases on all four "hand remote" dongles. They're now held together with gaffer's tape, except for one that I put back together with blue masking tape.
  • the Elinchrom "signature" handle break on several of the Style RX and s lights.

While my White Lightnings just keep flashing away.

I'm biased, towards stuff that works. :D  :D
