I have one small suggestion to improve the next generation light that stems from some frustration with my Einsteins. Please replace the two "Up" and "Down" buttons for flash power control with a digital "knob" with tactile detent stops similar to what is found on a modern car CD player. Changing power output 1/10 of a stop at a time by tapping the buttons takes much too long and holding down until "mega-scroll" is initiated often results in overshooting my target setting. A simple digital knob would offer much better and faster control. Also, those two buttons in particular feel sooo cheap compared to the rest of the otherwise amazing unit. |

agree. i have used two 700ws digital units one with ^ V and one with a dial/knob for model and flash adjustment. both units are digital controlled and in tenths. knob/dial is much better/quicker and the knob/dial equipped unit's both knobs are also push knobs/dials as well. Paul |

I like this idea also. One issue for me is that the up down buttons on the Einstein are not very tactile, no noticeable "snap" to them. If I want to go down 4/10ths, I have to watch the screen closely to make sure each press "takes". Outdoors, the screen is hard to see. A tactile rotating knob would be nice. You don't need to divide the operating range over a single 360 rotation, but more like a radio tuner knob on a digital radio--rotates endlessly in either direction, with tactile clicking along the way. |

Sure, we'll just stop production, throw away a million dollars in inventory and start over. There are wish lists and reality. |

With respect, I don't think anyone in this thread was suggesting that. The suggestions were with regard to a future, next generation product. As I have said in numerous posts here (and elsewhere), I think the Einstein is terrific. I am still using my version 1 units happily and patiently until my turn comes up for replacement. So this suggestion, for me at least, was for your next major improvement, which PCB customers are used to seeing periodically (Vagabond Mini, Einstein, CyberCommander, PLMs). We know the day will come when you introduce something new and fantastic. |

There are wish lists and reality. just a wish list item for future consideration is all. the two 700ws monoblocks i used(rented) are of the same model and make. one is older (relatively) with the up/down arrows and the new (improved) model has the dials. dial unit is much nicer. thanks, Paul |
