I installed the batteries that came with the unit and nothing happened. Screen does not light up. There doesn't appear to be an on/off switch. The manual says nothing about how to turn the unit on or off.

Can someone please advise? I'm beginning to think that the batteries that shipped with the unit are no good.

possibly, have you tried new batteries or tested those in another device? Pressing any joystick in any direction will wake it up.
