This probably has been asked in the past, but I can't find it due to the keywords are too popular...

Can I use the CSRB's / CST to trigger a camera's shutter remotely? If so, how, and what extra parts would I need?

Also, is there a way to use the CST, AND shoot with an on camera flash? Again, what would I need?

Thanks,
Dave

Here is a good place to start. The topic can be tough to search for if you don't know what parts (search terms) you need :D

From my experience thus far, either the CSRB or CSRB+ will work for Canon DSLR's (I have yet to see one not work). You will need a prerelease cable, we have tested with the Flash Zebra versions. You will not have remote AF activation. It would be either continuous AF or MF (or, I guess, a fixed pre-aquired focus is possible). One press of the CST=one shot on the camera, no "motor drive". The remote camera will be a fraction of a second behind teh master camera, as the master is already exposing when the remote camera is getting the signal to raise the mirror/shutter. This will make syncing lights with both a little more...challenging.

An on camera flash can be used in either camera, with the CST connected via PC port, and CSRB connected to N3 connector.
