The black shipping covers for Einstein V2.x units do not fit properly. As a consequence, they can be knocked off or pulled off while the clamps are engaged. Is there something in the works to address this?

I don't have this problem with my v2 w/ finger fix.

Hmm....both of mine exhibit the same behavior. I can put the covers on a B800, and you couldn't pry them off with a crowbar. Put them on one of my E640's, and you can pull them off without too much effort.

Just tried again with mine. Put the cover on, lifted the Einstein up by the cover and then shook it up and down several times with some force. The cover did not budge.

Evil forces are at work....I've had 3 V1's, 3 V2's and 2 V2.1's delivered, and something has been wrong with every one.

Customer Service admitted there's an issue with the way shipping covers fit on Einstein V2.x lights, but they said there's nothing in the works to address it. At least one user indicated that his covers fit tight, but they're loose on all 3 of mine. One of them, in fact, came off when pulling on it to get the Einstein out of the box.

For those who have an interest, it's fairly quick & easy to improve the fit by using a Dremel (or similar) tool to make four oval holes in the cover. The holes allow the fingers to extend such that they securely hold the cover.....just like on the Bee's & WL's. The following rather primitive snapshots show the size and location of the holes, as well as what it looks like when finished. YMMV.

Just curious, on your lights can the fingers be easily pushed in when not in the fully locked position? On my v2 w/ finger fix they can be pushed in fairly easily whereas on my v2 w/ spring fix they were nearly impossible to push in.
