Post subject:  AB400 for big aperture?

Hello everyone,

I'm a newbie and have a couple of questions before purchasing.

I'm looking to shoot food photography using a Canon 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. I intend to shoot with a shallow DOF, f/2.8 - f/4. Will an AB400 be too powerful for this application?

For now I'm looking to use a single AB400 through a softbox. My main concern or lack of knowledge is on shutter sync speed. From my understanding my canon t2i has a max of 1/200 shutter sync...will I be able to dial the AB400 down enough and still shoot at F/2.8 or even F/4?

Thanks for the help!

With a softbox you should have no problem with f2.8 to f4, particularly if you use ISO100.
