To make a long story short, my CC arrived and I had ordered new RJ11 cords separately. Excited to try out my CC, I tried a cord I had which I thought was RJ11; it fit perfectly in the receiver and my WL Ultra. Nothing would work properly; I was frustrated. When my Buff RJ11 cords arrived the next day, lo and behold, everything worked perfectly.. Thank you Paul for a great piece of equipment and thank you also for your excellent customer service after the sale.

To be specific, you need 4 conductor cross over cords. 6 conductor will also work, but 2 conductor will not.

Also, if the need arises and one chooses to use a coupler (more common on the LG4X), you then need a crossover cable, and a non-cross over cable. A second cross over effectively uncrosses the wires, and then it will not work.

What does the 4 conductor cross over cord look like? By which I mean, does it have 4 gold contacts?

The reason I ask is, I think I am using a wrong cord again because the Ultra 1200 is not responding correctly. It only flashes and models at full power even if I adjust them down on the screens..

Most crds are gonna be cross over, but to be sure, orient the connectors the same and look at the inner insulation (usually seen in the clear connectors). The colors should reverse order. And yes, 4 conductor cables will have four goldish contacts.

Make sure your sliders are set to FULL on the light itself.
