I found a box of older Ektachrome flashtubes for the older White Lightening series - or that is what's written on the box. They appear to have a ribbon of a "gold color" in them.

Anyone know the color temperature of them and what they would be if I were only to put 1 tube in the W.L. making it 1/2 clear and 1/2 gold? I'm thinking they may warm skin tones up in lieu of using gold reflectors or umbrellas, but I have no color temp. flashmeter to tell the outcome for digital cameras. Anyone try this?

Any ideas as to what their color temp. was back then?

Was the "Ektachrome" printed, or handwritten on the box? We do carry UV coated and non-UV coated tubes, but we do not label them Kodachrome. However, we did/do recommend them for slide film. The UV coated ones do have a slight yellow cast compared to the non UV coated tubes. Since you have 2 tubes, I assume you have an Ultra series light. This will give you 5600K for the non UV tubes and 5200k for the coated ones.

I have no idea of color temperature of flashbulbs, but would guess they are pretty close to "sunlight" IE around 5600° to 5800°K.
