Post subject:  How do you use PLM and Einsteins outdoor

Hello!
What is the recommended way of attaching PLM to Einsteins when using them outdoor.
What is better - to attach using umbrella-style mounting or faceplate speedring mounting?
Even small wind applied big force to PLM and to mounting point between PLM and Einsteins.
Thank you in advance,
Boris

I use the PLMs outside via the speedring without any problems.... just make sure to sandbag the stand really well (vagabond ii comes in handy here).

I would suggest the speedring mount. However, this issue is in no way exclusive to PLM but, indeed, applies to any accessory of this size . . . soft box, umbrella, metal reflector, etc.

It's simply the "sail effect". With sufficient wind force, sand bags won't help that much . . . the accessory will either be ripped off the light or torn apart from the force.

What size PLM's are you using outdoors and are they white or silver?
