Hi, I have a set of 3 Einsteins and was wondering how others were transporting them for shoots? Did you get custom padded hard cases built for them or are there some ready made ones which are easy to modify?

Can you post a little more detail? Are you travelling locally by car or are you flying?

My plan is to buy a Pelican case big enough to fit two Einsteins. Has anyone done this yet?

I keep 5 Einsteins in my Pelican case. Works very well.

^ Funny, I've got that same setup. It's a bit too long for my trunk without pulling my rear seats down, but it does the job.

I use a different version of the Photoflex Transpac - it's called a Dual Kit. It's a little smaller but the overall length means I can lay it across the back seat of my car. I've got two of them.

Although a lot of people like to put the heads into a Pelican (style) case, I strongly recommend a "full kit" case like the Transpac. That way you have everything you need to operate in one package, which is a better strategy even if you have to use two of them to move all your lights.

This is especially important if you check your equipment on an airline. If you have lights in one container and stands/accessories in the other, losing either container means your'e out of business. But if each container has all you need to operate at least one light, then you're still functional.

I've found the Plano brand "Ammo Can" http://www.basspro.com/Plano%C2%AE-Ammo-Can/product/56568/-991106 with the original Einstein shipping foam a perfect fit for a single light and I prefer not to bundle my light setups as I usually work out of a large roadie cases. I keep my lights canned up till the very last moment to avoid damage during setups.
