Post subject: | Glowing Tube |
On my last shoot had a glowing tube issue. The tube stays on. I have only had it happen once in 4 years with a set of speedos. I have not seen it with my alien bee (800)'s until now. Anyone know what causes this? I am trying to recreate it right now by trying to over heat it (popping it multiple times). I am not even sure if that is a relevant test. Any suggestions or comments? |

It could be a faulty regulator or IC chip, or it could be a taxed or otherwise low voltage power source. If it only happened once on a power supply of dubious nature, then that very well could be the problem. If it happened where the light is normally used, then a problem could be developing in the light. Firing it a bunch will not really do much, unless doing so is taxing the power supply (and it shouldn't). |
