Post subject:  The Difference between the New/Old fabric used on Softboxes.
I had a giant softbox circa 2007 and recently got an additional and here's the difference between the two...At what point did AB/WL change the fabric used I wonder?

With the 'old' version you can see how the light comes through the fabric..

And the newer version, after noticing this I sold the old version and got another new box...Please note this also had a grid on it, the old version didn't.

The effect that you're seeing is caused by the addition of the grid. Try taking the grid off the new box and repeating your experiment.

the difference he is referring to is in the amount of light coming through the sides. This is not impacted from the grid. As for when they changed, it was late '07/ early '08.
