Before I went through the Cyber Commander User Guide, the strobe fired. Then I went through the User Guide; steps 1-10. (I wish it had told me to skip 6-9 before I did them).

Since I am using one light, I skipped 12-14 and went to 15, the flash screen. The image in the Guide looks similar to the one on the back of my Cyber Commander. Channel one is set on the light and on the Commander.

The light fires if the buttons are pushed but not when the shutter release is pushed. I did a reset on the light and went through the step again. What did I miss? Yes, I skipped the Groups settings, but is that needed?

If the light is firing from the buttons, it should be firing via the hotshoe. First, if you are using live view, turn it off and try again. If no joy, then try using the PC cord that shipped with the CC (if your camera supports it). make sure you are not in a GRP "channel".
What else can you tell us about the setup? What camera and settings?

Thank you for you quick reply!

Nikon D3s; not in Live View. I went through the steps again, for the fifth time and now it worked. While this is good, I want to understand what settings I had wrong so I don't get stuck there again.

I did not make any changes, as far as I know; after using the OPEN MEMORY and the SYNC FROM STUDIO, it worked. Cyber Commander: showed Einstein on Flash menu; Power ON.

Any ideas?

Most likely it is a seating issue in the hotshoe. All settings sound correct, so it is impossible to say without having been there.
