Today I tried to remove the micro SD card from my CC for the first time. I wanted to update to the new firmware. The card was jammed to the point where I destroyed it trying to get it out. I had another card, inserted and formatted it in the CC, then it was also jammed. Again I broke it prying it out. The card has inserted correctly because it formatted.

What are the tips and tricks for inserting and removing micro SD cards?

I am headed to Office Max to buy more cards, but this is a pain. Any words of wisdom from anyone? Or do I need to send the CC back?

If I try to take the CC apart, does it void my warranty?

No, it will not void the warranty, however there are tiny springs that can get lost very easily if you do. I would suggest loosening the screws on the card side by 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time until a card ejects freely. You can certainly send it to us and we will gladly correct that issue for you. As well, we can send a preloaded card to you for the update, though that will not correct the long term issue.

WOW....TS working on 4th of July weekend! You guys are dedicated. I found a third SD card and I updated all three of my Einsteins. I will try to loosen the screws as you suggested on the CC. If that doesn't work, I'll send it back and order a new one at the same time. I like having spares, and @ $180, how can you go wrong.

Thanks for the help,
Richard K.

I had the same problem and came to find that not all MicroSD cards are created equal. By inserting a MicroSD card I bought from my local store, I found that it would not come out. I finally got it out and learned if you put the card in backwards(not all the way)you will be able to tell if it is too tight. My fix was to sand down the thickness at the end of the card opposit the contacts and now it fits just fine. No need to work on the Einstein.
