Is there a trick to getting this stand clip to function properly? I have both the standard AB stands and one of the heavy duty stands. I the clamp is too small for either stand.

You can loosen the tightening knob until the clamp opens to seat around the stand. I does not necessarily completely encircle the stand. Then tighten the knob back. You should also rest the unit on one of the knuckles on the stand.

the spring on the screw prevents that. In order to get the clip to open up at all, you nearly have to unscrew it to the point where it come off completely.

i can get it to attach to the very top of the heavy duty stand, but not the bottom part where the stand is most stable. clamping it other than the bottom section keeps me from using the stand at it's lowest , and makes the stand a little top heavy

I'll eventually design a better stand clamp, but I am soooooo busy. Some important new things in the works. In the meantime, I recommend bungee cord.

Elastic/stretch Velcro. Works great.

that's what I wound up using. Bungee cords work great.

The device itself it awesome. powered all 4 of my AB heads with no lag. love the thing.

I had a 1/4-20 connector and a Mafer Clamp (Manfrotto Super Clamp) that I put together with the VML. The MaferClamp holds the VML securely to any stand section I need it to.

If you already have some Mafer Clamps it's a fast and easy way to go.

I wrap the shoulder strap around one of the clips on the light stand. That seems to work for me.
