I'm looking to buy a couple Einstein soon and I was talking with a friend lately.

When I brought Einstein flashes to the conversation, he told me about CSA (Canadian Standards Associations) and the Canadian Electrical (CE) Code that ensures every product certified by them (nearly every electric products on the Canadian market) won't set your home on fire. My friend said PCB products were not certified and, in the event of an electrical fire, my insurance company would not pay.

Is it true that Einstein flashes aren't certified in Canada ?
Is there a similar certification in the U.S. and, if so, does PCB have any ?

No. They are not agency certified, as it is unnecessary in normal use. The units all are, however, designed and built using approved components where applicable and according to generally accepted good engineering practices.

how about US agency certified? If so does a US agency certification fulfill Canadian requirements?

They are not agency certified in the US or Canada, but do contain certified parts.
