The vagabond mini can only supply 120VAC or 220VAC. Only if Pentax offers an AC adapter could you use the VML to power your speedlite. Speedlites typically need a DC power supply. |

I know this is a slightly old thread, but Oh that would be a fine thing! Either super long lasting battery if you could convert down to six volts. Or, even better, rig up a 330V up-converter and go directly into the high-voltage port. (wouldn't recommend either for the electronically challenged!! especially the high voltage route! :cry: ) Sadly, the Pentax flashes do not increase their recycle time very much using the high-voltage port. So really not much advantage of getting the big battery pack on there. I'd say its probably a big reason the TR3 pack never sold very well (that and its price being higher than the Vagabond Mini !!) You might as well just carry extra sets of good rechargeable LithiumIon AA batteries to get the recycle times down as low as possible. Heck, for the price, I'm just going to carry an Einstein with me instead of the 540fgz... now, gotta find some way to attach that 5lbs strobe to my hot shoe. :lol: :lol: :lol: |
