Has there been any official (or unofficial) tests conducted to see if the CST works well with the new(?) rechargeable li-on 2450 coin batteries?

We have not performed any official tests with it. As long as it holds >2.85VDC, it should work fine. A common property of Li batteries is the ability to maintain voltage throughout the charge cycle. I would suspect this is a good battery to use, assuming manufacturing is good.

I've been using rechargeable LIR2450 batts for a couple of months now.

I've shot thousands of shots without any problems. Seems to last about the same as a conventional battery. When the battery goes it's pretty quick though.

For $14 you get 2-LIR2450 and the charger off Evil-bay.

Just following up on this. I purchased a pack of 4 LIR2450 rechargeable batteries (with charger) from ebay for $19.97, which included shipping. It took roughly 1 hour to charge the battery to full in its default state upon receipt. I had a photoshoot yesterday and used one in my CST for about 600 triggers--worked flawlessly. I don't know how much charge remains on the battery, but it doesn't much matter to me as I'll just recharge before the next shoot, and had the 3 others as backup. So far, I think this is a slam-dunk if you're a cybersync shooter.

Now... if only my CyberCommander used rechargeables... I unpacked my gear yesterday only to find that my CC drained my fresh AAAs while in storage =( Sadly, I didn't pack extras as its the only AAA device I have in my bag... sigh.

I use Sanyo Eneloop Ni-MH AAA Batteries in the CyberCommander. No problems what so ever.

hmmm, everything i've read indicated that nimh doesn't provide sufficient voltage for the CC. i'll certainly give it a try, but would TS care to comment?

Well, I cannot comment directly. I personally love Eneloop batteries for my speedlites and p/s cameras, but have never tried on a CC.

Eneloops do maintain a higher voltage than standard NiMH battery, but they dont last as long in analogue devices. Since it holds a higher charge on CC's digital circuitry, it may work, and sounds as though it does. However, I cannot make them a reccommendation, as we have not tested them.
