First off, I love the Cyber Commander! There is a short learning curve to it but once you get it down.. it's awesome and very easy to use. Total control! Anyway, I have two Einsteins with CSXCV's and one Speedlight connected to a regular CSRB. I have my groups set up as (GRP 1- both Einsteins and Speedlight), (Grp2 Einsteins only), (Grp3 Left Einstein), (Grp4 Right Einstein), (Grp 5 Speedlight only). Everything works great BUT I cannot meter my Speedlight by itself or in any other Grp's that it is in. The Einsteins meter no problem. I have to choose "ALL" in order to meter it. Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong? So basically, since I am able to fire and meter the Speedlight when in "ALL"..... why cannot I do the same when it's part of a Grp or by itself in it's own Grp?? Obviously I figured out sort of a work around but it would be nice just to just channel or Grp over to it and meter it by itself. Thanks for any insight! |

Guess I should have read the manual. It clearly states that I can't meter with the CSRB. I'm guessing it's because the Commander doesn't have a way to "mark it " it. Maybe a future firmware update will allow simple CSRB metering? Seems like it could be allowed pretty easily. What do I know though! The workaround is putting the all lights on standby except for the CSRB/Speedlight. Then fire/meter it while in "All". I do like the Cyber Commander much more than I thought I would have. It makes me want to buy many more Einsteins. haha All part of Paul's master plan! |

The CSRB+ can be assigned to a channel so you can meter it separately. It can also control the power level of non-Einstein PCB lights but it can't control the power of speedlights. CSRB can't be assigned to a channel so it can't be metered separately. |

Right. The Cyber Commander sends out a signal that says "channel 4, fire!". A standard CSRB does not understand the "channel 4" part, so it does not respond. It will still fire, however, when in the ALL setting, as there is no "channel XX" designation in the command. |

Thanks for the reply. I understand now why it isn't possible to fire/meter unless it's a "fire all" signal. Did anyone just "play" with their Cyber Commander for a few days after they got it? Like turning lights off and on for no good reason? |
