Found a bug:

If you cycle through the menu to the advanced configuration setting and open it, then let the cybercommander fall into sleep mode: the cybercommander will wake up with a bunch of horizontal text lines and a frozen menu interface. Though you can get access to the main light menu by thumbing the right joystick, the left joystick at that time will have no effect.

I have not been able to replicate this problem. Try removing the SD card to see if it happens then.

Tried removing the micro sd 2gb card but still had the bug. Must be an isolated issue if you aren't detecting it on your side. Doesn't affect functionality, just wanted to see if you guys had seen it.

Hmm. Originally, I tested with an antenna version CC, and could not replicate the issue. I then tried on my antenna-less CC and the issue appears. It is possibly due to hardware drivers for different screen versions (neither are better or worse, just different). I will pass this along to engineering.

Is there any way to install the update from a Mac? I don't have a PC at home (and thus can't write FAT16). Any workarounds to the microSD formatting? In case it is any help, I'm running OS X 10.6.3. I'd love to take the Cyber Commander from v.29 to v.40!

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

you can try simply erasing the card. If the card is OK, it should nor absolutely require formatting. We just strongly recommend it when possible.

Help Please!

I tried updating my cyber commander (the no antenna version) from version 27 to 40 and have completely failed to do so. I downloaded the new software, inserted the SD card from the Cyber Commander into my Mac and copied the BCBUFF folder containing the CCMDR folder overriding the old one. Put the MicroSD card back into the Cyber Commander, it flashed white several times and just never stopped flashing white. So I tried to put the older BCBUFF folder back onto the card (which I backed up) and it wouldn't let me. So I tried using the Disc Utility, and just erasing the card, tried putting on the old firmware v27 back on and now I have nothing but a black screen almost as if it doesn't work.

Obviously, I did this procedure wrong. What can I do at this point? This is my only wireless trigger. Without it I cannot use strobes. Please help!

Try erasing everything on the card. DO NOT FORMAT IT! The reload the new firmware on the card, as per the included instructions, and try again. If this fails, you can try using a different 2GB or smaller microSD card to see if the Cyber Commander likes that card any better.

If both of these fail, we will need to have the Cyber Commander come in for service.

Thanks for the quick response! I actually tried erasing the card via Apple's disk utility. I simply erased, not formatted it. I just a black screen at this point as if it wasn't turned on. My dad has a PC, gonna try formatting to FAT16 and putting the new firmware back on the card tomorrow. If that doesn't work, I will definitely be more than happy to send it in for service. Who would I need to get a hold of to do so if that is the case? And what kind of cost is involved in that? I've had my Cyber Commander for probably a little over 2 years now... Thanks again!
