Deafy Dad wrote: so it is better than softbox? For some uses, yes, for other uses, no. Easier to use and setup, and cheaper, but it not as "clean" from the front for wine bottle and silverware, etc, because it has the light in the center of it. I would probably use Soft Silver with or without front diffuser for most work, especially people. |

When I got my PLMs, the extension shaft was bouncing around loose and scuffing up the interior... p.s., thanks for holding back on the announcement until you were sure they'd be shipping on time... |

The speedring version can be assembled in various ways, therefore the tubes are not locked into a particular configuration. There are assembly instructions for the various configurations. Ww realize people don't like to read instructions, but sometimes it helps. I agree about the lack of protecting the rods from bouncing around and getting scratched up, and we will address this. |

Were the comparison shots (the ones of the light shooting into the PLM) done using the speedring version? |

All were 86". 64" and 51" produce essentially identical patterns and output. The camera was positioned such that the light struck the lens dead center. |
