How about designing an adapter so we can cut off part of the original shaft of the 8mm umbrellas and use them with the On-Axis Speedring Mount?

Thanks.

There is a two fold problem with this. First, there are no threads in the 8mm shaft version. Secondly, either the shaft version or version 2 has the ability to focus the PLM. This is achieved by sliding the PLM shaft into or out of the umbrella hole, or by sliding the PLM along the positioning shaft. If you mounted a speedring to the shaft version PLM, it would be in a fixed position.

If an adapter was made, it would likely not sell in sufficient quantity to keep the prices low enough to justify a consumer to opt for it over replacing the PLM. As well, the demand would deminish over time as older PLM's exit service and no new PLMs to require it.
