I just purchased a B400 that arrived this week for a session on Sunday. I set it up to test and the modeling light works but the flash does not fire. Is there anything that I could be missing because I really wanted to be able to use it for this session and am disappointed to having this issue with a new piece of equipment. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Make sure the flash tube is seated well. You might even want to remove it and reseat it to make sure. Don't touch the bulb with your bare hands though - use a clean cotton cloth to handle it. Also, I'd leave the unit unplugged for a minute or two before you remove or replace the bulb.

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately this didn't resolve the issue. Any other ideas or do you think this is just a defective unit? Thanks again.

If the flash tube is seated, and you are using the light's test button without any remotes attached, then the unit will likely need to come back. If you got it this week, then it will be swapped.
