Ok so the manual says the red light is suppose to stay solid while charging, yet it keeps turning off and on. Also, if I move the recharge cable around sometimes the green light will flash for a second. And finally, I don't know when it turned off but the green light wasn't on when I was charging it (before last night's use). I keep it charged as long as I'm not using it and I haven't touched in a few weeks before last night. I didn't notice if the red light was flashing yesterday when I unpluggged it but I know for certain there was no green light.

Is something wrong with the recharge cable or the Vagabond itself? It was purchased in Sept 2010 so it's no longer under warranty. How would I go about figuring out what's wrong with it? Send it in?

Thanks in advance.

First, your VII has a 2 year warranty on the inverter, and one year on the battery. Septemeber 2010 was under a year ago, so both are under warranty, at least for a few more weeks, if that is when it was purchased.

If there is a short in the cord, that would cause the charger to lose contact, thus flickering the LED. An easy way to test is to use a different cord. These cords are rather common, used in boom boxes, laptop chargers, game consoles, and similar devices. If it works correctly then, we can warranty the cord, if not, other steps will need to be followed.

Also, check the battery cables to ensure they are snug, as well as that the fuses are fully seated.
