I have a couple questions about the PowerMC2.

1. I have metered my Einstein light and manually set the exposure at the back of the Einstein to -5f. However after turning on the MiniTT1 on my camera and pressing the shutter 1/2 way down the power of the Einstein shoots up to -3f. I have to then go manually adjust the power on the light once again. How come the Einstein is going to -3f?

2. If I turn on my MiniTT1 and press the test button on it the Einstein power goes all the way down to -8f. Any ideas?

3. If I have my Einstein at -5F and on my camera I use a +1/3 flash compensation the Einstein power shoots up to -3F + 1/3. Why is this?

I verified on the MiniTT1 I have PowerTracking set to Full Manual.

I think all my questions are some how related. It seems like -3f on the Einstein is some kind of base line but don't quite understand what is really going on.

Any help would be appreciated.

Scott.

Are you using an AC3?

Either way, the TT1/5 and camera are in charge. Any changes made to the light are overridden. If you wish to adjust by the back panel of the light, set the MC2 to a non-CTL channel. These channels are immune to power adjustment.

No I'm not using the AC3. I guess I don't quite understand Ctl mode so I'll use the standard channels for now.

Go to the PW website and make sure you've got the most recent firmware for the MiniTT1, AC3 and PowerMC2. The -5F issue was addressed in one of the more recent beta firmware releases, and PW just released production firmware a couple of days ago.
