Having worked at a camera retailer, I know extended warranties are a profit center. While there are antecdotes of how it saved someone lots of money, there are many more times as many that never utilize them. It is the same basic principle as insurance. For it to be worthwhile, a company has to charge more than thier costs on it. Additionally, the repair costs for a light (or camera or lens) tends to be rather expensive, so a warranty that is less than a repair may make sense to those who expect to be rough on the equipment. For Paul, the repair department is not a profit center. Our lights either have a 2 or 5 year warranty. Outside of that, repairs are typically $40-$50, plus tubes (for Bees and White Lightning). For the cost of a 5 yr extention to the warranty on an Elinchrome 600Ws light at B&H, you can have a light repaired up to 6 times. In the long run, it would not be a benefit to our customers. |

White Lightnings have a 5 year warranty. All of our other flash units have a 2 year warranty. So your Bees have a 2 year warranty. |
