I'm thinking about purchasing the Sekonic L-758DR, will this meter trigger my Einsteins and my cybersync?
I know they work with the pocket wizards, but, Im using the Buff cybersync with the commander.

Thanks
Ralph Duke

Nope, pocket wizard uses a frequentcy that is their own. PW does sell a receiver made for the Einstein but if you already own Buff stuff, that may be redundant.

Well, It will not trigger with the module that does into the meter. Those are only PW compatible. You can connect a sync cord from the meter to a light or from the meter to a CyberSync Transmitter (my prefered method, if not using Cyber Commander). Also, you can use the "cordless" option of the meter. This has you "arm" the meter, then you would press the test button of a CST. The meter senses the flash firing and meters them then. It is more simple than it sounds when spelled out. This is Paul's prefered method when not using Cyber Commander.

I also think it works great if you just connect a CST to an extra pocketwizard

1.) L758 triggers the pocketwizard

2.) pocketwizard receiver triggers the CST

3.) The CST triggers your lights

I've done this and it works great

Are there any plans to create a module to trigger einsteins from Sekonic light meters? They did create a PW module for Einstein.

There are no plans I am aware of. If we make a module to work with another company's product, we are at the mercy of that company to not pull any proverbial rugs out from under us. Paul prefers to innovate product over keeping up with maintaining compatability with others' products.

The PW MC2 module will allow direct triggering of Einstein from all PW sources.

What Paul say s is true you can trigger the E-640's with the PW- MC2 with the L0758DR but only if you set the MC2 to receive on a standard channel if you are hoping to use a control TL channel it will NOT trigger the strobe. If you want to use the Control TL you have to set the meter to read flash the trigger the meter then you have 90 seconds to trigger the strobes with the camera to get a reading.
