Hello all. I have the TT1 and MC2 along with the Einstein strobe. With the Einstein I'm sure it's best to meter the light for the proper exposure using a light meter. With that in mind, what is the best way to establish the power tracking center point? Should I meter the light to establish my exposure first then use that exposure to establish my center point (ISO and aperture method) (my concern with this method is that the first shot will be registered as the center point.) or should I just pop a shot at say f5.6 and ISO 200 and work from there to get the exposure. Does anyone use this feature of the MC2 and if so what is your method for establishing the center point for power tracking? Thanks...Al |

I prefer to set the f-stop that I want the MC2 to center on based on what I am shooting. You set this using the PW utility it's under the power tracking tab. You might also try the full manual setting and see how that works for you. |

DP, why do you prefer to only center off aperture? I tried both manual and automatic. I like the automatic because it tracks all settings other than SS. Thanks |

I just find it works for me. I use this mostly in studio so I am always shooting at iso 100. So as I set up my lights I use the AC3 to adjust them and if I need more range I use the camera's flash comp settings. I use a Sekonic L-758DR to meter my light. I shoot tethered. Like I said in my first reply try the different settings and which ever works for you is the best. Cheers, Doug |
