I have a 10 degree grid on an Einstein. I just got it in the mail and the light falloff isnt continuous and smooth like the 20 and 30's. You can see the main circle then what looks like a ring or two of slight darkness followed by another ring of slightly more light, so it doesnt look smooth, it looks odd.

Also I have it facing a wall straight dead on and the circle looks bent a little. Did I receive a "faulty" 10 degree grid or am I doing something wrong.

The shape is due to distortion from your light, lens and focal point being on different planes. Look at the door, you've got slightly converging parallels that aren't converging evenly.

I have the 4 grid set that I use with my PCB lights. However, I only photograph three dimensional subjects with my grids(people/objects) and I don't notice any issues.

Are you using one of our newer matte reflectors, or an older reflector (or a different brand reflector)? Does the grid or reflector look out of round, or does the grid have gaps in some areas but not others around the edges?
