Post subject: | Technical info needed for WL ULTRA 600's |
I have two aged WL Ultra 600 units with problems and I would like technical info to repair. One unit will not charge to the power selected (no RED light unless I manually slide to lower power, then it lights and fires). Unit WILL FIRE on demand but not to the proper selected power. After a few minutes, it will also begin SELF-FIRING with a mind of its own. My second unit will (work properly) until it decides NOT to recycle (charge), but rather leaves one of the two strobe bulbs illuminated. When this occurs, ALL control panel lights go off. I have to shut-off, turn-on the unit and it will then work for a few shots and then again the one strobe bulb will remain illuminated. In testing, I left the unit powered on without firing...and sometime later, I found the breaker on the unit had tripped. It was able to be reset. Any technical info available would be appreciated! If you are using something plugged into the the RJ11 telephone "remote" jack, remove it and see if the problem persists on the unit that does fire but does not fire at full power. If the problem persists with that light, then it will need to come in. The light that has the tube that stays on will need to come in. There is not really anything that is user servicable that would address these symptoms. |

Thanks for the reply.... We will consider repair vs replace. From your repair knowledge, do you have a range of estimate for the repairs? Neither unit was plugged-in to a phone cord lighting control....I bench tested the units. Darrell |

Darrell There is a standard non-warranty service charge that covers most repairs ($40 for AlienBees™ flash units, $50 for Einstein™, White Lightning™ and Zeus™ units). This charge includes UPS Ground Shipping (U.S. only) to return your repaired unit. We will contact you before repairs are made so that we can let you know if there will be any additional service charges and get your payment method. You can choose to pay for a more expedited return shipping method at that time as well. Please do not send money until we have contacted you and given you a total. |
